St. Luke’s theatre group, the Winged Ox Players, present the one-woman play, “My Name is Rachel Corrie” at the Robert H. Jackson Center’s Cappa Theatre this Friday.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. All proceeds from the performance will go to Gaza relief through the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. For more information visit St. Luke’s Website.
Rachel Corrie was an American diarist, activist, and human rights advocate who traveled to, and died in, Gaza in 2003. March 15 marks the 21 year anniversary of Corrie’s death. The script is composed of excerpts from Rachel’s diaries and emails, edited by actor Alan Rickman and journalist Katharine Viner.
The Rev. Jessica Frederick, who lived in the West Bank from 2007 to 2010 while doing human rights documentation and advocacy work with Community Peacemaker Teams, will lead the production. Each performance will include a talkback session.
This staging is directed by Loren Masanqué.
